NAMM 2016: Teenage Engineering Go Retro with Three New Pocket Synthesizers
Each model offers its own sonic character and features. The PO-20 Arcade has a chiptune vibe, the PO-24 Office is a noise percussion drum machine, and the PO-28 Robot features 8-bit synth engines.
Brand new for 2016, these synths bring the number of instruments in TE's Pocket Operator range to six. All pocket operator models perfectly complement each other.
From drum machine, bass and lead synthesizers to noise percussion, the six unique units allow you to start a pocket band. Use them separately or connect them together, the choice is yours.
The PO-20 Arcade, as you might have guessed from its name, features 8-bit chiptune style sounds inspired by the sounds we heard from '80s arcade machines.
The PO-24 Office goes in a more unusual direction, sampling sounds from ancient office technology including floppy disk drive eject sounds, mouse-clicks and more.
The PO-28 Robot rounds out the set with palette again based on 8-bit sounds, but this model is focused on live melody and lead playing.
