NAMM 2014: First Predictions
2013 was the year that analog gear came back big, with the likes of the Korg MS-20 mini, Moog Sub Phatty and more. We're expecting the same from 2014, and if the recently-announced Dave Smith Instruments Prophet 12 Module is anything to go by, maybe more analog/digital hybrid gear is on the cards.
Brands Buddying Up
At last year's NAMM we saw TC Helicon partnering with Sennheiser for the e835FX microphone, Roland and Fender put the V-Guitar series out and more recently Korg has collaborated with LittleBits, to create a snap-together kit. We wonder if there will be any more brands teaming up this year.
Last year, BOSS reached their 100th Stompbox Series pedal with the Tera Echo, and this year sees more milestones. Tama will be celebrating 40 years, maybe they'll create anniversary models with a ruby finish, Eastman Guitars turn 10 and we've already been teased by Marshall that something big is coming in 2014 to celebrate their 50th anniversary.
As for the rest of the reinvented, relaunched and remarkable new gear awaiting us, we'll have to wait and see!
