NAMM 2013: Presonus Launch Capture 2.0

NAMM 2013: Presonus unleash Capture 2.0
Presonus Announces Capture 2.0
Presonus Capture 2.0 has been designed specifically for live recording, Capture is currently bundled with all PreSonus StudioLive-series digital recording and performance mixers and is preconfigured for instant use.

This Version 2 will further streamline workflow - arguably, one of Capture's strengths, this new version promises to add significant new features for safety to an already reliable stable recording platform.

When launching Capture 2.0 you notice there is a new Start page that will allow you to instantly create new sessions and access previous sessions. Capture's overall design has been overhauled with a darker colour scheme for improved visibility and legibility, especially useful under difficult lighting. The new "Big Meter" mode turns your computer monitor into a oversized meter bridge that is clearly visible even from considerable distances.

Capture 2.0's significant improvements include several workflow tweaks. Clicking the "Record Now" button on Capture's Start page creates a new session and immediately starts recording. A new Prerecord feature captures audio on all tracks, starting up to a minute before you press Record.

Sessions now can store metadata, and folder structures are organized by artist, performance, location, and song (marker). When you create a new session, Capture uses the metadata to automatically name the session and, optionally, create the appropriate subfolders.

The 2.0 update offers a variety of other useful features. Of particular importance, it adds support for 96 kHz recording with PreSonus' new StudioLive 32.4.2AI Active Integration digital mixers. A new Stereo Playback mode lets you use Capture with any built-in computer soundcard so you can edit and export with a laptop and headphones.

Capture 2.0 is FREE to all Current StudioLive users and is compatible with Mac OS X 10.6.8 and higher and with Windows 7 and 8 (32/64-bit). It's expected to be available in the first quarter of 2013.
