NAMM 2012: Teenage Engineering OP-1 OS Updated
Teenage Engineering have announced a huge OS update to the OP-1 Synth at NAMM 2012. The Danish manufacturers have listened closely to the demands of their customers. They've added more sequencer patterns, including instant fill ins, to the OP-1. The visual interface is aimed to be truly inspirational, utilising a Monkey bashing drums for the drum sequencer and Revenge of the Nerds style geek-chic on the musical sequencer. 24 polyphonic patterns that can be chained, mixed and replaced, all in sync. The Finger sequencer has a 32 step pattern per key, of which every pattern is polyphonic. Adjustable length means that you can make a 4 step pattern on one key and a 32 step sequence on another. DrumBox is a completely new drum synth on the OP-1, with two multi-shaped oscillators, a filter and source mixer. A double envelope means every percussion sound can be achieved, from hi hats to kicks and snares and much more. A quadruple MIDI Modulator / LFO has been added, meaning you can modulate four patterns at once, using external controllers over MIDI. What's more, a new game has been added - Choplifter is a hidden Easter egg type game. Fly your chopper through the streets clamping on to goodies below!
