NAMM 2012: Orange Jim Root Terror Head and Cab Launched
An Orange Jim Root Terror Head and Cab is to be launched at the NAMM 2012 show in Anaheim, USA. Slipknot and Stone Sour's revered guitarist is set to launch his own Signature #4 amp at the show. Known for his wide array of playing styles, Jim Root is respected for his unique and powerful sound and tone. Jim plays the Orange Rockerverb 100 in the studio and on the road, so this amp has been modelled on this beloved dirty channel from the RV 100. The #4 Jim Root Terror is an all tube, 15 Watt amp, that goes beyond high gain sounds. The full 3 band EQ allows players to achieve vintage rock, blues and more. A 12-AT7 tube driven FX-loop adds another dimension, making the Jim Root amp a flexible beast. The PPC212 cab has been developed alongside the Jim Root head to bring you his full tone. The cab is finished in black vinyl, with a specially developed black version of the Orange basket grill cloth. It also features a Signature #4 plate on the front. Using closed back design, the cab has a solid bottom end and perfect to achieve Jim's tone. Jim was obviously very excited at the announcement of the amp. "With this amp, simply giving it the number I use in Slipknot seemed logical." "I've not been to apt to splash either band logo or artwork all over things, but this will be the beginning of the end of that...maybe" The amp features 1 x 16 Ohm and 2 x 8 Ohm outputs and is fully switchable Between 15/7 Watts - ideal for home, studio or live.
