NAMM 2011: Yamaha update APX and CPX Electro Acoustic Guitar Range
Musical instrument manufacturer Yamaha has announced a series of updates to their popular APX and CPX electro acoustic guitars.
Originally launched in the late eighties, the Yamaha APX range was designed with performance in mind and has become one of the most sought after since its release.
Known for its unique, comfortable slim-body shape and playability, the APX range will receive new electronics, new cosmetics as well as a wide range of new finishes.
The APX500II now features a new piezo pickup and improved tuner, the APX700II will feature a wooden Soundhole inlay and new 1-way ART pickup, and the APX1000 will receive gold hardware, new truss-rod and the SRT pickup and preamp system.
The CPX series, known for its larger body size and louder acoustic voicing, will also receive the same treatment.
The CPX500II is now AA battery powered for longer life, the CPX700II will feature the 1-way ART pickup and the CPX1000 will feature gold hardware and the SRT pickup and preamp.
