NAMM 2011: Paiste Announce Return Of Its Legendary 602 Series Cymbals
Renowned Swiss cymbal maker Paiste have announced the return of its legendary 602 series cymbals at this years NAMM.
Paiste formula 602 cymbals were originally launched in 1959, made from B20 bronze.
In time it became one of Paiste most revered cymbal series adopted by genres such as rock and especially jazz.
Over the years the 602 series has been used by some of the finest drummers such as legendary jazz drummer Art Blakey and Rolling Stones sticksman Charlie Watt and many more.
With its controlled and pure tone the 602 was the ultimate cymbal for jazz, rock and acoustic music for more than three decades but demand fell with the rise of amplification and electronic music and production was stopped in the 1990's.
With the warmth of the traditional CuSn20 bronze back in demand Paiste have decided to reintroduce the most popular 602 models.
The 16" and 18" Thin Crashes are sensitive, fast-responding cymbals for full accents with silvery highs.
The bottom cymbal of the 14" Sound Edge Hi-Hat features subtle ripples for rapid evacuation of the air, resulting in a concise 'chick' sound perfect for use in the studio.
The optimum balance of richness, solid bottom, clear 'ping' and opulent sustain makes the 20" Medium Ride the ideal all-round ride in quiet to medium-loud settings.
In 1968 Paiste invented the ride without a bell, and the 20" Formula 602 Medium Flatride became the classic forerunner.
Formula 602's are entirely made by hand from the originally used CuSn20 bronze in Switzerland, using traditional methods that have remained unchanged in over half a century these cymbals will appeal to Formula 602 fans the world over.Posted on 10 Jan 2011 12:40 to category : Instruments News
