NAMM 2011: Orange debut revolutionary tube technology DIVO
British guitar amp manufacturer Orange amps have announced the release of DIVO - a revolutionary new tube bias technology that will be showcased at NAMM 2011 next week.
The new DIVO technology focuses on the intelligent optimization of the output power tube section of a guitar amp, to ensure that their full potential is realised.
DIVO is also set to expand the lifespan of your tubes, making re-biasing a thing of the past.
The new technology does this by monitoring the amp's performance during use and by conducting 'in-circuit' tests to ensure optimum performance is recognised.
DIVO will intelligently isolate any faulty or end-of-life tubes by running them at half-power until they can be changed.
Similarly, DIVO also allows guitarists to experiment with different tube compliments, without the worry of tube-matching.
The ability to mix and match tubes means guitarists can explore their amp's tonal variations and essentially re-voice their amp.
Orange amps will soon be offering a 'DIVO Ready' version of their Rockerverb 100 amp.
For other amp users, Orange will be releasing DIVO in a standalone unit named 'DIVO Orange Tube Sync OV4'.Posted on 6 Jan 2011 12:49 to category : Instruments News
