NAMM 2011: Hagstrom Announce 'Viking Rex-Tone' & 'Swedie' Electric Guitars
Electric guitar manufacturer Hagstrom introduced the 'Viking Rex-Tone' & 'Swedie' guitars at NAMM 2011.
The new Viking Rex-Tone, combining the acclaimed 'Swede' model infused with the electronics and soul from the classic Viking model Hagstrom electric guitars.
The guitar features a semi-hollow maple body with a set hard maple neck.
Equipped with Hagstrom's celebrated H-Expander truss rod for ultimate stability for the neck and the Resinator finger board delivering clear and distinctive tone.
The Rex-Tone is stocked with Hagstrom's Custom-58 pickups that deliver classic 50's tone as well as the 3-way tone switch borrowed from the 'Swede' model.
Offering a more 'exaggerated' and 'pushed' tone these guitars will appeal to many classic players looking for a little more attitude, and a more and modern aggressive playing style.
Hagstrom are also introducing a new guitar to the 'Swede' electric guitar family, the 'Swedie'.
With its building blocks based on the classic 'Swede' model, the 'Swedie' is a new, interpreted version.
Utilizing a slightly thinner body and conventional features aimed at those looking for a classic look, but with an edgier tone.
Using Hagstrom's Custom 62 open coil pickups, the 'Swedie' produces an aggressive and accented tone which will cut through the mix.
Adapting the same 3-way tone filter switch as the 'Swede' to produce a vast array of tonal variations, often reminiscent of the characteristics of a half cocked wah-pedal when activated.Posted on 5 Jan 2011 12:44 to category : Instruments News
