NAMM 2011: Epiphone Reissue Nighthawk Custom Guitars
Guitar manufacturer Epiphone has announced that they are re-issuing the classic Nighthawk Custom electric guitar at this years NAMM.
When the Nighthawk was first introduced in 1993, it represented a departure from Gibson "tradition" with its 25.5" scale length and versatile combination of coil-tappable humbucking and single pickups.
18 years later, guitarists who originally dismissed the Nighthawk now recognize what a great guitar it really is!
Essentially a Les Paul upper bout and SG lower bout, it features a solid Mahogany body and a glued-in SlimTaper Mahogany neck to give it a well rounded, warm tone with excellent sustain.
Nighthawk Custom is fitted with an Ebony fingerboard and for even more tonal spice as well as looks, a AAA Flame Maple veneer is glued to the top.
With its unique pickup package that includes a full-size NHT humbucker (bridge), a NSX single-coil (middle) and a NHR mini-humbucker (neck) combined with a 5-way slider and push/pull coil-tapping tone knob, you have 9 different "tones" available.
Whether you desire a powerful and warm humbucker or the unique clarity of a mini-HB to a thin, bright single-coil - and everything in-between - you can with this guitar.
One of the most noticeable things about this guitar is the gorgeous Flame Maple top in rich, see-through finishes and the mother-of-pearl "crown" inlays on the fingerboard.
If you missed out on the first Nighthawks you can still redeem yourself!Posted on 10 Jan 2011 15:13 to category : Instruments News
