Mystery Jets' 'best album'
The Mystery Jets feel new album 'Serotonin' is their best record yet.
The five-piece indie band - whose last album '21' led to the group being dropped by record label 679 - revealed they think their approach to songwriting has matured so they can now craft tunes in "quite a traditional way".
Guitarist Will Rees said: "It's really good. I think we feel like we've made our best record. I think on the second and third album we've put so much effort into crafting and learning how to write songs. In quite a traditional way."
The group - who reached a disappointing number 42 in the UK Album Chart with their last effort - explained they think it makes them "much more interesting" as a band that they have gradually learnt to master the art of music.
Bassist Kai Fish told Clash magazine: "I think if you look at much more interesting bands, they only reach a ripening a few albums down the line.
"If you blow your load on the first album and there's nothing else to back that up, it's not that interesting. If you find your feet over the course of three or four albums, to be a great band, I think you've got to do that."Posted on 7 Jul 2010 16:30 to category : Band / Celebrity News
