Musikmesse 2013: Korg Goes Fully-Analog with New Volca Series Synthesizers (updated with video)
The Volca Keys Lead Synthesizer is a three-voice, polyphonic synth with a voicing function that lets you create sounds easily. A loop sequencer allows you to record phases as you play them and self-tuning function overcomes pitch drift issues common to many synth enthusiasts.
Volca Bass, the Analog Bass Machine, features three oscillators that generate a variety of aggressive bass sounds that stand up to drums and generate grooves. A fine-tuned analog filter can sound bright and expansive, but easily distorted using the Peak function. Volca Bass features a loop sequencer distiller from the Electribe.
The same step sequencer features in the Volca Beats Rhythm Machine, letting you dramatically change the sequence or create new lines. The possibilities are endless with Volca Beats, which brings maximum effect from minimal parameters. Find powerful new sounds and produce dynamic performances only possible with true analog.
Designed to compliment each other, the Volca Series synths can be used seperately or combined, they even work together with your DAW via a MIDI connection.
The new series all feature a compact size, battery operation and built-in speaker, ready for you to perform anywhere, anytime.
The new lineup follows the popular monotron, monotribe and MS-20 Mini analog synths. Powerful, simple and drawing on Korg's 50 years of know-how, the Volca Series represent the ideal introductory synthesizers.
Announced for Musikmesse 2013, the series will be available from September.
