Musikmesse 2011: Pearl Releases Reference Pure Drum Kits
Leading drum manufacturer Pearl has released new reference pure drum kits at this years Musikmesse held in Frankfurt.
These new kits remain true to the original mission of reference kits delivering maximum projection for playing live.
However the Reference Pure drum kits are optimized to create deliver the most resonant professional near field response ideal for recordings.
To achieve this Pearl start the process by selecting thinner plies of prized Maple, hand selected Birch and rare African mahogany.
Using only .9 thick plies the Reference Pure drum kits offer a thin, resonant, extremely vibrant yet powerful near field experience.
Reference Pure toms feature 6 ply shells that are 5.4mm thick and 8 ply floor toms and bass drum 7.2mm thick.
8" and 10" toms blend Maple and Birch while 12" toms are 100% Maple and floor toms and bass drums blend Maple and African mahogany.
Reference Pure Snare Drums are 6 plies thick with a Maple and Birch blend for the same tonal characteristic as Reference but with much less mass for a fatter, warmer and more resonant sound.
