Musikmesse 2011: Fender Release All New Pawn Shop Series Guitars
Leading electric guitar manufacturer Fender has announced three Pawn Shop guitars that they're billing as guitars that never were but should?ve been.
The range is made up of a Mustang Special, Fender '72 Strat and Fender '51, each featuring authentic 60s - 70s styling, vintage-style hardware, 9.5" radius neck and Humbucking pickups.
Perhaps the most exciting of the series is the Mustang Special, with classic offset body, 60s "C" shaped 24" short-scale maple neck and dual Fender Enforcer Humbucking pickups.
This guitar is completed with a rosewood fretboard with 9.5" radius and medium jumbo frets, pickup toggle switch, three way coil selector (which gives 18 different tonal options), mint green pickguard and 70s style Strat bridge.
The Mustang Special is available in two classic vintage colours, Candy Apple Red and Lake Placid Blue.
The semi-hollow 72 Stratocaster features a Telecaster neck, rosewood fretboard with modern 9.5" radius and 6105 frets, bringing together the best of two legends of guitar design.
Wide Range Humbucking Neck Pickup and Enforcer Humbucking Bridge Pickup give the 72 a powerful tone, enhanced by a bullet truss rod and three-bolt neck attachment.
The 72 is available in three tone sunburst and surf green, both of which feature a mint green pickguard and gorgeous f-hole.
Like the 72 guitar, the 51 combines a Stratocaster body with a Telecaster neck, but this time it's a vintage "C" shaped model.
Tone is given by a single-coil Texas Special neck pickup and Fender Enforcer Humbucking bridge pickup, providing a huge tonal spectrum.
Completing the guitar is a maple fretboard with modern 9.5" radius, medium jumbo frets and 70s style hard-tail Strat bridge.
Available in Black and Blonde, the 51 symbolises raw rock n roll simplicity.Posted on 4 Apr 2011 11:51 to category : Instruments News
