Musikmesse 2010: Shure Extends QSC Acoustic Design Ceiling Range
Posted on 24 Mar 2010 09:05 to category : Instruments News

Shure extends the QSC acoustic design ceiling range adding the AD-C1200 and AD-C820/C821, revealed at Musikmesse 2010.
After their European debut at this year's ISE Show, Shure Distribution now presents two new QSC high-output ceiling speakers at Prolight + Sound (Booth C40, Hall 6.1): the AD-C1200 and AD-C820/C821.
The AD-C1200 utilises custom designed transducers and crossover networks, in combination with an acoustically optimised enclosure (AD-C1200BB).
The AD-C820 and AD-C821 are acoustically identical and also use custom designed transducers and crossover networks.
The AD-C820 is available in combination with an acoustically optimised enclosure (AD-C800BB), while the AD-C821 is a fully integrated, sealed system.
Extensions to the AcousticDesign Series, The AcousticDesign Series of installation loudspeakers has been designed for trouble free operation and versatility.
The new speakers have been designed for music playback, public address and distributed audio in applications that require high output from a ceiling mounted loudspeaker.
The new products extend the AcousticDesign philosophy of bringing natural and accurate sound quality combined with versatility and reliability to high-ceiling applications.
AD-C1200 High-Output Ceiling Mount Loudspeaker System, The AD-C1200 features 12" low frequency woofer, 1.75" diaphragm compression driver, 300W continuous power rating.
And a 70V/100V multi-tap transformer enabling the system to operate in distributed or low-impedance mode.
Each loudspeaker includes the coaxial transducers, a transformer and a crossover network, factory mounted on a steel baffle.
The baffle is designed to mount to the QSC enclosure or to any 70 liter enclosure using industry standard transducer mounting dimensions.
The 12" woofer is made with a treated paper cone on a steel frame.
In the optimised enclosure the usable low frequency of the system extends to 37Hz. The 1.75" compression driver fires through the centre of the woofer and is acoustically mated to the woofer for a smooth transition at crossover.
The system achieves 85 axisymmetric coverage.
High-current, low tolerance network components provide smooth full-range, passive performance.
The included 70V/100V custom designed transformer is optimised for low line loss as well as accurate and transparent acoustic performance.
AD-C820/C821 High-Output Ceiling Mount Loudspeaker System, Complementing the AD-C1200 is the AD-C820/C821, which features 8" low frequency woofer, 1.75" diaphragm compression driver, 200W continuous power rating.
And a 70V/100V multi-tap transformer enabling the system to operate in distributed or low-impedance mode.
Each AD-C820 includes the coaxial transducers, a transformer and a crossover network, factory mounted on a steel baffle.
The baffle is designed to mount to the QSC enclosure AD-C800BB for separated back can installation.
The AD-C821 is a fully integrated blind mount, factory sealed system using a 'dog-ear' style mounting scheme.
The 8" woofer is equipped with a treated paper cone on a steel frame. In the optimised enclosure the usable low frequency of the system extends to 52Hz.
The 1.75" compression driver fires through the centre of the woofer and is acoustically mated to the woofer for a smooth transition at crossover.
The system achieves 105 axisymmetric coverage.
High-current, low tolerance network components provide smooth full-range, passive performance.
The included 70V/100V custom designed transformer is optimised for low line loss as well as accurate and transparent acoustic performance.
