Posted on 24 Mar 2010 09:50 to category : Instruments News

Leading proponent of all things micro, Korg have released microStation, a synth and sequencer, at Musikmesse 2010.
The microSTATION offers unprecedented portability, the stunning sound of Korg's EDS-i synth engine, phenomenal effects, plus new and easy-to-use sequencing tools.
This keyboard is truly aimed at everyone form the beginning keyboardist to the accomplished player.
The compact and portable microSTATION none the less features our 61-key Natural Touch mini keyboard, numerous effects, dual arpeggiators, and a 16-track sequencer to transform musical ideas into polished productions.
It is available at a size and price that is usually the reserve of performance synthesizers such as Korg's other micro keyboards.
Under the hood is a new EDS-i (Enhanced Definition Synthesis ? integrated) premium sound engine, derived from the EDS system found on KORG's acclaimed M3 XPanded and M50 professional synthesizers.
The oscillators allow access to 49 MB of high-quality PCM sources (sampled at 48 kHz) delivering a rich variety or sounds.
Acting almost like a sampler, the microStation offers 256 dynamic combinations placing different sounds on different areas of the keyboard.
The onboard sequencer has been designed to be as flexible as possible, being anything from an extra set of hands or a powerful drum machine up to a full-blown MIDI production suite.
