Musicians asked to donate instruments to Iraqi children's charity

Instruments are being sought by a charity scheme dedicated to helping Iraqi children.
Great deals on musical instruments

Musicians who have old musical instruments they are planning to replace have been encouraged to donate them to a charity working to help children in Iraq.

The Tareek Al Zahuur Community (TAZC) charity is urging people in the UK to donate used or unwanted musical instruments to its Musical Healing for Children initiative, which provides them to young people affected by the conflict in the country.

To help publicise the cause, British folk singer Tanja Maritsa has teamed up with Iraqi musician Naseer Sharma to record a version of Sting song Fragile, reports Look to the Stars.

Maritsa said the scheme is a worthy cause, which has the potential to help many youngsters.

"Music has a remarkable ability to help heal traumatised children and we've had a great response for our musical instruments drive, forthcoming concerts and musical download fundraising," she stated.

The musician recently released her second album, also named Fragile, following the success of debut effort Child in My Heart.
