Musician recalls learning Bob Dylan songs on Gibson Les Paul
Hart and the rest of his group are to play at a tribute to Dylan in Glasgow next week and the musician told the Scotsman that the songwriter has had a large part to play in shaping his own career.
"My first electric guitar was a Gibson Les Paul and the first thing I learned on that was The Times They Are A-Changin'," he recalled.
The musician explained that one of his fondest memories was going to a Dylan gig in 1993 and seeing the star perform an "amazing version" of Boots of Spanish Leather.
Hart added that one of the things he admires most about Dylan is his songwriting abilities and refusal to talk down to the listener in his lyrics.
Despite turning 70 this year, Dylan is still touring the world and playing live.
In April, he will head to Australia for a number of shows, visiting venues in Adelaide, Melbourne, Byron Bay and Sydney over the course of the month.
