Musician plays on piano for elephants
Paul Barton, a Brit who moved to the south-eastern Asian country in 1995, delivered a piece by Beethoven on the piano to raise money for a charity that looks after the elephants.
And it had always been an ambition of his to play for elephants.
"It was a 50th birthday present to myself. My wife and I have been working with blind elephants for many years, and I thought it might be something they would enjoy to listen to," he said.
"I had to drag the piano up a mountain, I have a really bad back, but I wanted to make the effort so I could feel like I had undergone a personal challenge."
Mr Barton is now looking to organise a full on orchestra to generate the funds needed for an electric fence for the reserve where the elephants are located.
In other news, rising teenage star Saoirse Ronan revealed how she mastered a complex Beethoven sonata on the piano in just under 12 weeks for a movie.
