Music instruments bound for Africa
Posted on 6 Feb 2012 10:09 to category : Instruments News

Having left Greater Vancouver in Canada on Boxing Day 2011, it is expected the ship will arrive in Italy first, head to Oman, before making its way to Africa by March 2012, reported the Vancouver Sun.
There is a diverse range of musical instruments, including three pianos, tubas, recorders, clarinets, trumpets, cellos, trombones and a double bass.
Heidi Krutzen, a harpist who organised the trip, aims to be in Zambia by the time the ship arrives.
Unfortunately, her instrument of choice, a harp, which is a triangular stringed instrument, is not part of the package of goodies.
Here she will help steer the instruments to their final destination in Lusaka - the Ngomo Dolce Music Academy, which is home to around 100 students.
"I get a lot out of this. I love seeing the smiles on the children's faces and knowing I've made a difference to them. And I learn a lot whenever I'm there," she told the online news provider.
These instruments will go a long way to improving the resources the students already have and help them perfect their music skills.
