Music for Youth event 'inspires young musicians'
Posted on 16 Apr 2009 11:26 to category : Music News
The National Festival of Music for Youth helps to inspire young people to achieve their musical aspirations, according to its chief executive.

"The opportunity to perform in major venues provides these young musicians with
the motivation and inspiration to fully explore their musical ambitions," he remarked.
Approximately 10,000 young musicians from around the country are expected to head to Birmingham to take part in this year's seven-day festival, with 315 groups - ranging from rock bands to orchestras to jazz ensembles - scheduled to perform live between July 6th and 12th.
The first National Festival of Music for Youth was held in 1971. Its website states that any type of music ensemble is allowed to participate in the event, with groups led by young people or playing their own compositions particularly welcome.
