Muse top covers poll
Posted on 22 Sep 2010 20:58 to category : Band / Celebrity News

Electric guitar band Muse's adaptation of classic song Feeling Good has been named as the greatest cover version of all time by participants in an online poll.
A recent survey on the NME.com website placed the Teignmouth trio's take on the longstanding favourite - first written for a 1964 musical and made famous by Nina Simone the following year - ahead of several other well-known covers.
In second place was the Beatles' version of the Isley Brothers' 1962 single Twist and Shout, while Johnny Cash's dramatic revision of Hurt by Nine Inch Nails followed immediately behind in third.
Conversely, Britney Spears' I Love Rock 'N' Roll was singled out by respondents as the worst cover ever, alongside Ronan Keating's reworking of the Fairytale of New York and Take That's attempt at Smells Like Teen Spirit.
French first lady and singer-songwriter Carla Bruni recently recorded a cover of David Bowie's Absolute Beginners for a tribute album, prompting a raft of negative comments from Youtube users.
