Muse to start work on new album without frontman
The bass guitar player from Muse has revealed that the band is to start making new music without their lead singer-songwriter.
In an interview with the Sun, Chris Wolstenholme revealed that Matt Bellamy, who also plays the electric guitar in the band, will be taking a break from his music commitments as he readies himself for life as a dad.
The star is engaged to the Hollywood actress Kate Hudson and the couple are expecting the birth of their first child in July.
Speaking to the newspaper, Wolstenholme expressed his nerves over writing lyrics.
He said: "Matt's raised the bar quite high in terms of songwriting. I'm a bit nervous because I don't want to write a song and it be responsible for the demise of the band."
It could mark a radical change in the sound, which the band hinted at last month. Drum player Dominic Howard said that the band were considering a mellower album which he described as "softer rock".
An interesting fact is the addition of a unique "music instrument" at the end the track Space Dementia. The sound that you hear is in fact Bellamy's trouser zipper.
