Muse: We want to record a song in space
Not satisfied with recording music in a conventional studio, Muse have expressed a desire to record a song in space.
Matt Bellamy, the band's frontman said they were keen on travelling on Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic when it launches its services and then compose a song while on the space shuttle.
Speaking to Contactmusic, Bellamy said: "We're trying to blag a free trip on it [Virgin Galactic].
"I'm going to try to convince Richard Branson to let us make a music video or record a song up there. I think that would be cool. Would I be scared? I think I'll be alright."
This all stems from a recently acquired interest in astronomy.
After a gig in Moscow, which he described as the most intense ever, a fan presented Bellamy with a big telescope.
He set it up and was amazed by the clarity and was astonished to find that the moon had mountains.
Earlier this year it was reported that Chris Wolstenholme had told the Sun newspaper that the band were planning on starting work on their new album without their lead singer-songwriter.
However this was dismissed as nonsense by the bass guitar player via Twitter, showing how useful the social networking site can be in clearing matters up.
