Muse held a free concert in front of 15,000 people as part of the London premiere of new Brad Pitt film World War Z.

Matt Bellamy and co played a nine-song setlist at Horse Guards Parade Ground, St Jame's Park, including hits such as Supermassive Black Hole, Starlight, Uprising, Knights of Cydonia and Time Is Running Out to mark the launch of the movie in the UK.

Part of the Hollywood blockbuster was filmed in Britain with scenes taking place in Glasgow while around 14 minutes of Muse music is reported to be in the film.

Speaking to BBC Radio 6 Music, Pitt said: "We wanted to find something that had that same kind of feeling. Lo and behold, these guys, our friends Muse, were reading the [World War Z] book at the same time they were writing their album The 2nd Law."

Muse are currently in the middle of a world tour and recently played a string of shows across the UK in London, Coventry and Manchester.

Prior to the Midlands show there was a concern that the venue, the Ricoh Arena, had caught fire with pictures circulating on Twitter of flames coming from the stadium.

However, this was confirmed to be Muse testing the pyrotechnics prior to their headline show.

World War Z will hit cinemas across the UK on June 21st.
