Mumford and Sons 'planning new approach to next record'
Indie stars Mumford and Sons want to go in a new musical direction when recording their follow-up to hugely successful debut album Sigh No More.
Speaking to NME, the band's keyboard player Ben Lovett said he wants to see the group "tear down everything" related to Sigh No More and start afresh for their next record.
"There are things in our lives that carry more weight and substance than simply saying, 'Things are going really well, let's write some songs about that'," he explained. "There's more to life than the success of this band."
Marcus Mumford, the frontman of the band, added that he is worried about a potential backlash against the group as their success continues to grow.
Later this month, Mumford and Sons are heading over to North America for a tour of the US and Canada that is scheduled to run until the middle of November.
They will be playing shows in San Francisco, New Orleans and New York during the run of gigs.
