Acoustic guitar player Marcus Mumford has revealed that his band are working on new songs following the success of their debut album, Sigh No More.
Mumford & Sons are set to embark on a world tour in the near future but the acoustic guitar player told the Guardian that the group are enjoying their brief window of opportunity to record new material.
"It's kind of nice to get rid of everything in our heads other than the four instruments we started on and our four voices," he stated.
Mumford & Sons are well-known for their instrument swapping all four members of the group take turns to sing, with Mumford originally starting out as a drummer for Laura Marling before going on to play acoustic guitar and mandolin for his new group.
Meanwhile, the band's double bassist, Ted Dwane, was originally their guitar player.
Earlier this month, it was confirmed that the band will be playing at the Bonnaroo Festival in the US this June an event that is also set to feature Kings of Leon, LCD Soundsystem and Phoenix.
