Mumford and Sons collaborate with Ray Davies
Posted on 7 Jul 2010 16:30 to category : Band / Celebrity News

Indie band Mumford and Sons have been in the studio with The Kinks' frontman Ray Davies.
Ben Lovett, the accordion and keyboard player in the group, told Xfm that they had spent two days recording with the singer as part of a covers album of Kinks songs which feature a variety of guest performers.
He explained that Davies had requested that Mumford and Sons were involved in the project.
"It was the first time we'd heard about it so we jumped on it and chased it up," said the keyboard player.
"We spend two days in the studio with Ray Davies. We're a little bit shell-shocked."
Mumford and Sons played two Kinks tracks - Days and This Time Tomorrow.
Lovett also revealed his band are unlikely to begin recording their second album this year due to heavy touring commitments.
The group are set to play at the T in the Park, Oxegen, Latitude and Benicassim festivals in the next month alone.
