More bands added to Reading and Leeds Festival

Alkaline Trio, Enter Shikari and Frightened Rabbit are among the bands added to the line-up.

The latest batch of bands have been added to this year's Reading and Leeds Festival and for the first time sees the creation of the Rock Stage.

Among the artists performing over the weekend are Skindred, Lower Than Atlantis, We Are The In Crowd and Bury Tomorrow which will be appearing on the Main Stage during the August bank holiday bash.

The Lock Up Stage welcomes back Illinois punk legends Alkaline Trio who will take the headline slot with Sick Of It All, The Living End, The Bronx, RX Bandits and King Prawn among the bands providing support.

Organisers have announced the launch of a new Rock Stage which features a world debut of the Shikari Sound System as the bill topper. The group is the alter-ego of Enter Shikari and the band have promised a lot of surprises for the set.

Speaking about the headline slot, frontman Rou Reynolds said: "Expect eerie live electronics and tent-peg-dislodging baselines. Expect a tour through many dance tempos and electronic genres that have been a constant inspiration to our band's sound."

Elsewhere, the NME/Radio 1 Stage will feature Frightened Rabbit, FIDLAR, Kodaline, Tribes and AlunaGeorge adding to the already announced headliners of Phoenix, Skrillex and Alt-J.

Tickets are currently available from the Reading and Leeds Festival website.
