Moog synthesizer to be presented to Devo
New Wave stars Devo are to receive a "very special" Moog synthesizer at a forthcoming awards ceremony.
The band have been named as this year's recipients of the Moog Innovation Award, with the synthesizer part of their prize.
It will be presented to them during the MoogFest 2010 weekend, which is taking place in Asheville, North Carolina between October 29th and 31st.
The award is given to artists who are felt to exemplify the innovative spirit of Bob Moog.
Previous recipients of the honour, which was known as the Moog Award until this year, include Keith Emerson and Gershon Kingsley.
Emmy Parker, a Moog Music representative, said: "Like Bob Moog, Devo enthusiastically charted their own course and thus dramatically affected pop culture because of it."
MoogFest has a stellar line-up this year, with Devo set to be joined by the likes of MGMT, Massive Attack and Hot Chip at the event.
