Mike Posner's police problems
Posted on 13 Sep 2010 07:00 to category : Music News

Mike Posner was hassled by police "countless times" when recording his debut album.
The 'Cooler Than Me' singer recorded the first versions of songs for his debut album '31 Minutes To Take Off' in his college dormitory room in Michigan, US, and says the noise he was making would often get him into trouble.
He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "The people who lived above me hated me because I kept them up all night. They were hitting on the ceiling, everything.
"The cops came to my room countless times. They' knock on the door and be like, 'is that you making all that noise?'
"I'd be like, 'no, it's not me', then they'd look in the room and see all the keyboards and speakers and stuff and be like 'we know it's you - turn it down'."
He added that as well as police officers ruining his recordings, his friends and other dorm mates would frequently cause further interruptions.
Mike said: "Countless times, my friends would ruin a track or a vibe. I'd be, like, feeling a vibe, I'd be there really feeling something, like, an emotion, then a dude will burst in like 'POSNER! Hit this!' with a beer.
"It's like, 'really man? Really?' That happened about a million times man. That's the best thing about not recording there anymore."
Mike's debut single, 'Cooler Than Me' is released in the UK on November 8.
