One of the biggest showbiz trials in recent times has got underway, with Dr Conrad Murray being accused of the involuntary manslaughter of Michael Jackson.

In what is set to be an explosive and shocking media event, newspaper and online news providers have already been attacked for showing a picture of Michael Jackson on a hospital trolley, which was revealed in court.

Jackson, who is one of the biggest selling music artists of all time, died at the age of 50 in 2009 after suffering a cardiac arrest at his Beverly Hills home.

Following on from Jackson's death and autopsy, Dr Murray was subsequently charged with involuntary manslaughter.

At the time of the charge in 2010, the District Attorney's office released a statement saying that Dr Murray "did unlawfully, and without malice, kill Michael Joseph Jackson ... in the commission of an unlawful act, not a felony; and in the commission of a lawful act which might have produced death, in an unlawful manner, and without due caution and circumspection."

Dr Murray has pleaded not guilty. He faces up to four years in prison if found guilty.

According to the Sun, eight out of the 12 jurors sitting in the trial are Jackson fans.
