Megadeth bass guitarist to collaborate with Jackson
The star is to collaborate with Jackson's research and development team on the design of future bass guitars, with the company due to release a special version of Ellefson's Rust in Peace custom bass, reports MI-Pro.
It is to be based on the musical instrument used by Ellefson during the recording of the Megadeth album in 1990 and will be a replica of the bass he employed while on the band's Rust in Peace 20th anniversary world tour recently.
"When Megadeth set out to replicate the Rust in Peace tour, there was only one clear choice of bass guitar - my original Jackson Concert Bass," said the musician.
"This bass truly takes no prisoners."
Megadeth are set to head out on a European tour with Slayer in March and April, visiting countries such as Russia, Germany, Italy and Spain along the way.
The two bands are also set to team up with fellow electric guitar heavyweights Metallica and Anthrax for two Sonisphere Festival gigs, performing together in the UK and France during July.
