Matt Sorum enlists all-star cast for the video of his band's new single
The ex Guns N Roses drum player has pulled out all the stops for his new band's debut single and accompanying video by enlisting the help of an all-star cast.
Matt Sorum, who is still a drummer for the currently inactive Velvet Revolver, has formed a new band called Diamond Baby.
He has managed to get Lemmy from Motörhead, the comedian Jane Lynch, who currently stars as the acerbic coach Sue in Glee, Juliette Lewis and Verne Troyer to make an appearance in the video for the song the Last Rockstar.
In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Sorum said: "She’s [Jane] so busy, she’s such a huge actress now, but then she said she’d love to do it because she’s never done a rock video or a music video.
"And when I told her she was going to play my butler, she was cool."
Although Diamond Baby have finished their debut studio album, which they have described as electro-rock, no release date has been given.
This is perhaps because of the fact the band is spending time investing heavily in the creative concept of the album with other attached projects like a graphic novel and digital game being discussed.
Meanwhile, Velvet Revolver, who haven't made music since 2008, have announced that they will be recording new music, but not for another two years.
