Massive Attack to create "collective hallucination" at Manchester festival
The trip-hop group have teamed up with filmmaker Adam Curtis to bring the live show to fruition and will combine the band's music with Curtis' story-telling that will provide a unique experience for fans.
Massive Attack's Robert Del Naja explained that they will also collaborate with Punchdrunk theatre company's Felix Barrett and Olympic ceremony stage designer Es Devlin for the event.
The band confirmed that there will be eight performances of Massive Attack v Adam Curtis scheduled to take place in July but did not release many details of what the shows will actually entail.
Curtis explained that the performances will be "a musical entertainment about the power of illusion and the illusion of power".
Manchester International Festival will take place over 18 days, kicking off on July 4th, and has boasted performances from the likes of Wu Lyf and Sinead O'Connor in previous years.
