Mark Ronson's Krafty tour
Posted on 24 Sep 2010 07:00 to category : Music News

Mark Ronson wants his tour to be "somewhere between Kraftwerk and James Brown".
The producer has just made his third album - 'Record Collection', under the name Mark Ronson and The Business International - and said when he takes it on the road he wants to strike a balance between the showmanship of the Godafther of Soul and the functionality of the German electronic music pioneers.
Mark, 35, told newspaper the Yorkshire Evening Post: "It's a massive ambition but with the tour we wanted to offer something somewhere between Kraftwerk and James Brown. I don't think anyone else is doing that - or perhaps could do that."
He also said that while the record employs the use of many synthesisers, he put a lot of effort into making sure this wasn't done in a kitsch way.
Mark added: "What I wanted to show on this record, using synth and stuff like that, is that you don't have to be part of a quasi-80s revival, you know.
"There are some great bands around bringing synth to life, but I wanted to use synths and play music in a more conventional band way."
'Record Collection' is released next Monday (27.09.10), when Mark will also begin his tour of the UK.
