M.I.A's 'perfect' Jay-Z song
M.I.A wants to produce a track for Jay-Z.
The 'Paper Planes' hitmaker - who collaborated with the hip hop star when he remixed a version of her 'XXXO' track last month - would like to return the favour, and thinks she has the "perfect song" to entice the rapper.
She told MTV News: "I really want to produce for him. I have got the perfect song for Jay-Z! In fact, that's the best one that I had for my album which never made it.
"It was the first song I was really into and the song that actually made my album go in the direction it did, but it never actually made the album. I want to give it to Jay-Z because I think it suits him more."
Although the British artist didn't disclose the name of the track, she revealed it is even "more insane" than her recently debuted 'Steppin' Up'.
She said: "Oh, it's way more insane than 'Steppin' Up'. But it's in the same ballpark."
M.I.A - who featured on Missy Elliot's hit 'Bad Man' on 2005's 'The Cookbook' album - admitted she was "surprised" Jay-Z was such a fan of 'XXXO'.
She explained: "I was really surprised he liked 'XXXO,' actually. And I was really surprised he liked the version that's on the album, and not Blaqstarr's version, which is more urban sounding. It was interesting he liked the one with the crazy synths and stuff."Posted on 6 Jul 2010 16:30 to category : Music News
