Londoners invited to tinkle the ivories
London will be singing to the sound of pianos later this month when the instruments are placed at 31 locations across the city.
It is hoped the pianos will encourage strangers on the street to interact, as well as draw out the hidden talents of many would-be musicians.
Luke Jerram, the artist behind the Play Me, I'm Yours project, commented: "This is about providing access to musical instruments, promoting creativity and creating music in public."
Each instrument will be decorated with artwork relating to the nearby landmark, and will take to the streets on June 20th for a three-week period.
This comes shortly after 10 pianos were placed in Bury St Edmunds, while 20 instruments will be distributed on the streets of Bristol in September.Posted on 3 Jun 2009 13:35 to category : Instruments News
