Line 6 invites developers to come up with apps for MIDI Mobilizer
Line 6 is looking for the help of developers to come up with new apps for its MIDI Mobilizer device.
The equipment is the only MIDI interface on the market that allows users to connect up their Apple iPhones, iPods and iPads to a variety of musical gear, including synthesizers and digital pianos, reports MI-Pro.
As part of its attempts to encourage developers, Line 6 is offering a free software development kit to any interested party who emails the company.
Third party apps already in existence for the MIDI Mobilizer include MIDI Surface - which turns Apple devices into complete controllers - and MIDI Live, which allows for playback and real-time modification of any relevant file.
They can both be purchased via the Apple App Store.
Line 6's MIDI Mobilizer allows users to capture musical ideas quickly and easily, with the ability to open and edit files on almost any PC or Mac-based digital audio workstation.
