Limp Bizkit dropped by record label
The US rock band's comeback album Gold Cobra, which was released six years after their last record, has failed to generate the same commercial success as their breakthrough Significant Other and Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavoured Water.
Frontman Fred Durst revealed the news in an interview online in Poolside With Dean Delray.
"One of the things with Gold Cobra was that it was a record for us to do for ourselves, for the core fans, for some of the people that we know in the industry. It wasn't our step forward to make a big pop, smash radio record; we just didn't want to make that record at that time," explained Durst.
"We have been working for a while now to re-navigate where we are going to take Limp Bizkit and finally we have been able to get off our label and become independent".
It hasn't dampened the band's spirits as they are keen on investing their time in touring, which remains popular as ever despite dwindling album sales.
