Liam Gallagher snubs Noel as Oasis pick up Brit Award
Liam Gallagher caused controversy at last night's (February 16th 2010) Brit Awards by pointedly refusing to thank Noel as the band picked up the prize for best album of the last 30 years.
Despite electric guitar player Noel's contribution to the What's The Story (Morning Glory) record which pick up the award, Liam made no mention of him in his acceptance speech.
"Listen kids, I want to thank Bonehead, Guigs [Paul McGuigan], Alan White and the best fans in the world," he said, before throwing both his microphone and the award into the crowd.
Oasis was given the prize, which was voted for by Radio 2 listeners, ahead of other nominees including Coldplay, Keane and The Verve.
Earlier this month, Noel announced his first solo shows since leaving the group last year.
The electric guitar player is to play two gigs at the Royal Albert Hall in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust.Posted on 17 Feb 2010 16:49 to category : Band / Celebrity News
