Liam Gallagher: I won't go solo
Liam Gallagher is not planning to go solo after electric guitar player Noel Gallagher's departure from Oasis.
Noel was recently named as a guest on Kasabian's UK arena tour and has already expressed a desire to write and record music under his own name.
However, Liam has confirmed that he does not want to do the same and plans to take time out of the music industry for at least a few months.
"Don't wanna do anything solo," he told the Scotsman.
"It's not my thing - I want to be in a band."
Gallagher said he first needs to take a short "breather" from the music business to let both fans and Oasis band members get used to the split.
He added that whatever emerges from the break-up could potentially be "pretty cool".
Noel left the long-running band, which scored hits such as Wonderwall and Don't Look Back In Anger, during the summer, saying he could no longer work with Liam.Posted on 26 Oct 2009 14:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News
