Les Paul 'helped to change music'
Posted on 14 Aug 2010 09:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News

Electric guitar innovator Les Paul changed the world of music as we know it.
This is according to Jim Henke, chief curator of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, said Paul's technical innovations and musical abilities have helped to shape the way bands sound today.
He told the News Herald that Paul's design of the first solid-body electric guitar "helped with the development of rock 'n' roll" as prior to its invention the guitar was more of a rhythm instrument than something to play solos on.
Mr Henke said: "He was looking for when you'd play a solo it would really cut through all of the other instruments and whatever else was going on.
"And I think that's what he accomplished."
Earlier this week, the Anglesey Mail reported that the Anglesey A Team shop is raffling off a vintage Les Paul guitar that was donated to it.
