Les Paul guitar 'played major role on Hotel California'

A Les Paul electric guitar was central to the recording of The Eagles' landmark album Hotel California.
Don Felder from the group used a 1959 Les Paul Standard when working on the record and he told the Gibson website that he also employed it when coming up with the demos for the album.
"When it came time to record the track for real, I went to that guitar and an old Tweed Deluxe and I used that for all the electric guitar parts," the musician explained.
In honour of the historic electric guitar, a special edition Gibson Custom Don Felder 'Hotel California' 1959 Les Paul has now been released.
Last month, Gibson announced it is also going to reproduce the 1974 Les Paul played by Ozzy Osborne's guitarist Randy Rhoads.
The company said it has been one of the most highly demanded reissues it has ever seen from music fans.
