Les Paul Standard 'played by the guitar greats'

The Les Paul Standard is one of the favourite guitars of many famous musicians.
Among the guitar players to use the instrument down the years are Mick Jones of The Clash, Pete Townshend of The Who and the Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl.
Writing on the Gibson website, music journalist Ted Drozdowski explained that other stars such as Slash, Joe Perry and Warren Haynes have also been known to play the musical instrument.
"Over the years the appeal and musical legacy of the Les Paul Standard has continued to grow, thanks to its full, ballsy, versatile sonic characteristics, good looks and always-growing coterie of players," he said.
One act to praise Gibson Les Pauls recently are The Gaslight Anthem.
The band's lead singer Brian Fallon said the instruments are a favourite with the group, both in the studio and when playing live.
He said that the group never take any other type of guitar when on tour, as the Gibsoninstruments can provide "any sound you need".
