Lemmy not planning to hang up bass guitar

Motorhead bass guitar player Lemmy Kilmister has insisted that he is not working on his retirement plans.

Speaking to Canoe - Jam!, the veteran musician said he still considers going out and playing live to be an adventure.

"You wouldn't believe the odd juxtaposition of events that happen on the road," he commented.

"It's just a great life."

Lemmy said that while there are lots of lives he could have led, he is lucky to have got the one he ended up with.

However, he added that if he did choose to hang up his bass guitar and retire, he would probably buy an antique shop or "something like that".

Lemmy first rose to prominence as a member of space rock band Hawkwind, performing vocals on their biggest hit Silver Machine.

He later formed Motorhead in 1975 after being fired from Hawkwind, notching up more hits including the rock classic Ace of Spades.
