Lambert 'not planning to work with Queen'

br /> American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert has insisted that he does not intend to front legends Queen - who are without a singer following their split from Paul Rodgers.

Electric guitar legend Brian May recently suggested that he and Queen drummer Roger Taylor would be prepared to work with Lambert at some point in the future.

The pair are currently without a singer, as vocalist Freddie Mercury passed away in 1991, and their collaboration with Rodgers - of Free and Bad Company fame - recently came to an amicable end.

However, Lambert said this week that Queen have not actually offered him anything, despite expressing an interest in working together.

"I don't know if joining the band permanently is on the cards for me right now," he commented.

"They're legends; I'm just the new kid on the block."

May and Taylor toured twice with Rodgers on vocals, performing songs from both their respective back catalogues, as well as tracks from their new album The Cosmos Rocks.
