Lady Gaga makes a fortune in 2011
The international megastar, who has had more wardrobe changes than even Madonna, has been named as the highest-earning female artist of 2011.
Forbes revealed that Gaga has earned a confounding £58 million from the sale of her second album Born This Way, a glut of endorsements and a world tour that has been monumental.
She was followed by country singer Taylor Swift (£29 million) and then poptastic Katy Perry (£28 million).
Surprisingly, given that she has been a permanent fixture in the charts and tabloid newspapers and magazines, Rihanna came in at a nevertheless respectable number five (£18.7 million).
She was pipped by her R&B colleague and pal Beyonce, who earned a whopping £22.6 million.
Adele, who has had just as good a year as Rihanna and Lady Gaga, commercially and critically, was the only Brit to make it into the top ten bagging a tidy £11.6 million.
