Lady Gaga is using her pop power to help Japan on the road to recovery from its devastating earthquake and tsunami by asking people to visit the country.

The music superstar has already donated more than £1 million of her own money toward relief efforts and now wants people to do more than just donate cash.

Lady Gaga, a talented piano player, who is currently in Tokyo for a benefit concert, told reporters at a press conference that increased tourism would boost the country.

She said: "I can't say enough to people all over the world that the majority of Japan right now, Japan in general, is very safe. It's fine to come here. It's beautiful."

She added that she would like to run around Tokyo and "kiss all the beautiful little monsters".

At the press conference she was sporting her new emerald-influenced look from the very top of her peppermint coloured hair through to hear green mac and emerald shoes.

On Saturday June 25th June, Lady Gaga will perform at the Music Aid Japan benefit concert, which will be broadcast live to 30 million households across Asia.
