Korg SV-1 Hailed In Recent Review
Posted on 3 Dec 2009 16:38 to category : Instruments News

The Korg SV-1 Stage Vintage Piano brings retro looks and classic sounds to the professional stage piano market. Music Radar has recently had a look to see exactly what this piano can do.
This new stage piano from Korg has a stylish retro look. Its bold and curvaceous body is an appropriate match to the vintage tones that this piano delivers.
The SV-1 uses Korg's RX (Real experience) Technology to deliver detailed and authentic recreations of instruments including electric pianos, acoustic pianos, organs, strings and synths.
Musicians seeking precise sonic re-creations of vintage instruments will be pleased to know that subtle audio nuances such as pedal noise can be heard on the SV-1.
Music Radar praised the SV-1 for its high quality sounds. "The SV-1 has probably the most authentic emulation of a real Rhodes that you could find in a current keyboard."
Unsurprisingly, this top end stage piano comes with a great array of extras you can use to manipulate the pianos sounds into your desired tones.
These consist of EQ, Pre-Fx (including compression, boost, u-vibe, chorus/vibrato, tremolo and Wah), Amp Modeling, Modulation (including chorus, phaser, flanger and rotary), Reverb, Delay, and a Limiter.
Music Radar praised the SV-1 for its ease of operation, calling the main navigational panel "a doddle" to operate.
Looking at the FX chain and amp modeling specifically, the reviewer commented: "The effects, EQ and amp model selections (and pretty much everything else) are child's play with no menu diving at all."
The SV-1 combines great retro looks and classic tones with a large array of effects and extras. Furthermore, Korg's finest graded-hammer action (RH3) brings fantastic playability to this piano.
If you're seeking a stage piano that can deliver professional vintage tones, then make sure that you check out the Korg SV-1.
